The Air is Fine

Have you noticed the sea creatures jumping?
Whales, and fish, and even rays
for reasons we do not understand.
Research has actually left us more confused about the possbilities.

The last time I jumped I was
disappointed by how high I got
but I think I still had fun.

Perhaps the sea creatures feel this way - they swim
at incredible speed for some distance to breach into
a huge sunny world for a few seconds.

I don't go underwater often
and when I do, only for short stints.
I can't be sure of the reasons I do it
but, gosh, it sure is beautiful—

I jump in
and upon my return to the surface I am
more sure of where I belong
and of who God is.
